"Luck in the Shadows" by Lynn Flewelling. It's really really awesome, so far. :D

Yes! She's a she, and she is an AWESOME writer. One of my favorites, I think.
I've read a trilogy she's written, before. The Bone Doll's Twin/Hidden Warrior/The Oracle's Queen.
It was a a story about gender identity, ghosts and destiny. Also, it was AWESOME.

Also also, you should read her books. :D
They're awesome.

Though, before I'd seen the episode and I was waiting for it to finish downloading, I peeked at a couple episode reactions and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why everyone seemed to be so mad at me. I felt pretty stupid when the episode was over though XD
